Talking Education 31 Jan, 29 Feb, 14 March (Kate Phizacklea)

Great St Mary’s has been collaborating over recent months with the Ely Diocesan Board of Education and the Education Division of the Church of England in arranging a series of debates on and discussions about developments in education policy and practice. The events will take place in Michaelhouse on Trinity Street at 5.30pm.

All Hallows Quiet Days and events 2012(Beccy Gosling)

25 February: Sing to the Lord – a meditative day with some plainsong and other music at which to try our voice as we settle into Lent – Leader Sr Sheila

31 March: Lent Quiet Day – a preparation for Holy Week – will be lead by Resident Clergy

April: Holy Week (1 – 7 April) and Easter (8 April)– come for all or part of the time and share in our celebration of the “biggest” week in the Church’s year.

All Hallows Quiet Days are held at All Hallows Convent unless otherwise stated. They start at 10am and finish at 4.30 and cost £12, payable in advance. There are normally 2 – 3 guided sessions throughout the day, plus some time for you to wander through our grounds or use our Chapel for private meditation. You will need to bring a packed lunch when attending, but drinks and cakes are provided by the Community.

Torch Fellowship for Visually Impaired (Pat Heap)

Cambridge Torch fellowship Group meets on the second Saturday of the month at 3 o'clock in St Thomas's Church, Ancaster Way for an afternoon of Christian fellowship, fun and food. Alcohol Simple and Brief Advice - FREE training (Wendy Lansdown)

Do you know anyone with alcohol problems, would you like to be able to talk to them more openly and feel more knowledgeable?

The Cambridgeshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team and Addaction are organising a series of Simple Information and Brief Advice (IBA) training in non specialist settings. This training is free of charge and places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

We would like to invite members of the community and those involved with community organisations to attend this training. Please email us at daat@cambridgeshire.gov.uk if you are interested and would like more details.
